Blessing the Pets
We celebrate the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi on the church grounds. Creatures of all shapes and sizes - from goldfish to horses - receive a blessing.
O Almighty God, the Creator of all things and the giver of all life; we give thanks for your gift to us of these pets whom we have named before You this morning. Send your blessing upon each of them, and grant that we may love them as deeply as they love us. And grant that we may learn to love all the creatures that You have made, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
