Art Raffle for Holy Vino Fundraising Event

On Saturday, August 16th, a raffle will take place at the Holy Vino, a fundraiser for the Community Engagement Council of Hickory Neck Church. The prize – an original watercolor of the McKenzie Apothecary in Colonial Williamsburg. The McKenzie Apothecary has a rich history dating to the early 18th century. Dr. Kenneth McKenzie, a surgeon and druggist (the 18th century term for pharmacist) owned the property and served the local population from 1747 to 1751.
This beautiful painting by award winning local artist, the late Richard DePaul, is valued at $2,000. The attention to detail and the play of light and shadow are trademarks of his work stemming from his degree in Industrial Design from the Philadelphia College of Art. For over 25 years Dick documented many of Colonial Williamsburg’s houses, taverns, shops, grand buildings and small outbuildings. He would be happy to know that one of his paintings is helping to support a very important cause.
Raffle tickets are $5 per ticket, or 5 tickets for $20. They can be purchased at the 8:00 and 10:00 AM services from June 1 through August 10th. The drawing will be held at Holy Vino on August 16th. You do not have to be present to win.
