Angel Tree / Silver Bells

Salvation Army Angel Tree / Silver Bells is now Underway!
It is time to pickup tags and bags in support of the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program. Every year Hickory Neck Church parishioners have a direct impact on the success of this program by “adopting” an Angel (Youth) or Silver Bell ( Senior ) and purchasing new Christmas gifts for them. Often times, for many of these families the new toys and clothes are the only gifts they will have on Christmas morning.
We will have 30 Angels and 20 Seniors available for adopting. All tag selections will be made the old fashioned way: in person with good ole pen and paper. (We will NOT be using signup genius.) Tags will be available at both services through November as well as at the Wilkinson Center during normal business hours (Tuesday – Thursday, 9:00 am to 1:00 PM). Please review the tags of each child or senior to see their list of wants and needs. Once you have made your selection you will be given a collection bag and tag for each Angel and Bell adopted. All gift bags need to be returned to the Wilkinson Center no later than December 6th.
A few helpful reminders for all of Santa’s Elves: all gifts are to be new and unwrapped; when buying clothes for those we have never met, including gift receipts for those items is always appreciated; any items that do not fit in the bags need to be clearly marked with the associated tag’s ID number place the identifying tag in the gift bag where it will best be easily seen; feel free to keep the small lower section for your records. The Salvation Army ideally would like to have an outfit and 2-3 toys for each child in their program. Santa says to feel free to add “a bit” extra!
“Cornelius stared at him in fear. ‘What is it, Lord?’ he asked. The angel answered, ‘Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God.’ “ ACTS 10:4
