Pentecost Sunday
June 8, 2025 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am
Join us on Sunday, June 8 for the 8:00 AM service in the Historical Chapel or at 10:00 in the New Chapel (and also livestream) with special readings for the service.
Pentecost Sunday commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles of Jesus, marking the birth of the Christian church and the empowerment of believers to preach the gospel. It’s celebrated 50 days after Easter and is considered a major event in Christian history and theology.
Remember to wear red…..Red is the color of excitement, energy, power, and all things intense and passionate. As such, red is the color of the Holy Spirit. It calls to mind the flames that descended upon the Church at the Day of Pentecost, and so is the color of the Feast of Pentecost.
